1. Introduction
BahireHasab (“the App”) is an Ethiopian Orthodox fasting and feast calendar application developed and published by IMADE INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “our”, or “us”), 3A, Third floor, Indus Alliance - Elite Apartment, Choolaimedu, 9 and 11, Bajanai Koil 2nd Street, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600094, India. This Privacy Policy describes how we and our third-party partners collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use BahireHasab on iOS or Android.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
2. Information We Collect
2a. Data You Control — Stored Only on Your Device
The following data is saved locally on your device using Android DataStore or iOS UserDefaults. It is never transmitted to our servers and is deleted when you uninstall the App:
- App preferences — selected tradition (e.g., Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo), preferred display language, and theme.
- Notification schedule — whether daily fasting reminders are enabled and the time you set for them. Processed entirely on-device by the operating system scheduler.
- Premium entitlement — confirmation that you have purchased a premium plan. Verified against the App Store or Google Play at runtime; no payment details are ever stored by the App.
2b. Advertising Data — Google AdMob (Free Tier Only)
The free version of BahireHasab displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (“AdMob”), operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. AdMob is a third-party service that collects data independently under its own privacy policy. The data AdMob may collect includes:
- Advertising identifiers — Google Advertising ID (GAID) on Android and Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS. These identifiers are linked to your device and used to serve, personalise, and measure advertisements.
- IP address — used to determine your approximate location (country / region level) for ad targeting and fraud prevention.
- Device information — device model, operating system version, screen resolution, language, and time zone.
- Ad interaction data — ad impressions, clicks, and view duration.
- Interest inferences — Google may build interest profiles based on your activity across apps and websites to serve personalised ads, subject to your device's ad personalisation settings.
iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS, the App requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework before AdMob accesses your IDFA or tracks your activity across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, AdMob serves contextual (non-personalised) ads and does not access your IDFA. You can change this decision at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Android — Ad Personalisation: To opt out of personalised advertising, go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation, or reset your Google Advertising ID.
Premium plan: Purchasing a premium plan permanently removes all advertisements from the App and terminates all AdMob data collection for your sessions.
AdMob's data collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
2c. Push Notification Permission (Optional)
The App may request permission to send push notifications for daily fasting and feast day reminders. We request this permission explicitly before sending any notification; you may decline without affecting any other feature of the App.
Notifications are scheduled entirely on-device. We do not use a third-party push notification service that transmits your device token to external servers. You can disable notifications at any time:
- iOS: Settings → Notifications → BahireHasab → Allow Notifications (toggle off)
- Android: Settings → Apps → BahireHasab → Notifications (toggle off)
2d. In-App Purchases
All purchases are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We receive only a transaction receipt and entitlement confirmation. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details, billing address, or Apple/Google account credentials.
2e. Calendar Data Updates (OTA)
The App periodically fetches updated calendar datasets (observance rules, feast days) from iMade Infotech servers hosted on Google Firebase. These HTTPS requests transmit your device's IP address and user-agent string as part of standard server communication. This data is:
- Not linked to any personal identity
- Used solely for security, abuse prevention, and service diagnostics
- Retained in server logs for a maximum of 90 days, then automatically deleted
2f. Voluntary Discrepancy Reports
If you submit a calendar discrepancy report (Settings → Data & Trust → Report Discrepancy), we collect the content you choose to enter — the date and your description of the discrepancy. To help us reproduce and fix the issue, the report also includes a small set of technical diagnostics as described in section 2g below. Reports are used solely to improve the calendar dataset.
2g. Feedback & Support Submissions (Optional)
The App includes optional forms that let you contact us — for example to send feedback, request a feature, report a calendar discrepancy, or make a business enquiry (Settings → Support / Data & Trust). When you choose to submit one of these forms, we receive only the information contained in that submission, transmitted securely over HTTPS to our support endpoint. This may include:
- Your message — the subject and free-text content you write.
- An optional reply email address — only if you choose to enter one so that we can respond. Leaving it blank still lets you submit. This is the only personal contact information we ever receive, and only when you provide it.
- Basic technical diagnostics — app version and build number, bundle identifier, operating-system version, device language/locale, the active calendar pack, and your current entitlement state (e.g., whether ads are removed or export is unlocked). These help us understand and reproduce the issue you are reporting.
These submissions are used only to respond to you and to improve the App. They are voluntary — the App is fully usable without ever submitting a form — and we do not use them for advertising or share them with third parties for marketing.
3. Data Linked to You vs. Data Not Linked to You
In accordance with Apple App Store privacy labelling requirements, here is how we categorise the data collected:
| Data Type | Collected By | Linked to You | Used for Tracking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID) | AdMob (free tier) | Yes | Yes |
| IP address (ad targeting) | AdMob (free tier) | Yes | Yes |
| Device model & OS version | AdMob (free tier) | Yes | No |
| Ad interactions (impressions, clicks) | AdMob (free tier) | Yes | Yes |
| IP address (OTA calendar fetch) | Firebase Hosting | No | No |
| Reply email & message (only if you submit a feedback/support form) | iMade Infotech | Yes | No |
| App diagnostics (version, OS, locale, entitlement) — with form submissions | iMade Infotech | Yes | No |
| App preferences & settings | On-device only | No — not transmitted | No |
All AdMob data collection is absent when using the Premium plan.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
BahireHasab does not require an account and does not collect, request, or have access to any of the following (the only exception is the optional reply email and message you choose to send through a feedback or support form, described in section 2g):
- Names, phone numbers, or any user account credentials or passwords
- Any email address other than one you voluntarily type into a support form
- Precise GPS or coarse location data
- Camera or microphone input
- Contacts, call logs, or calendar entries from your device
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
- Browsing history or activity in other apps (except through AdMob on free tier)
- Financial information beyond the platform purchase receipt
- Sensitive personal information of any kind
5. How We Use Information
Information collected is used only for the following purposes:
- Delivering App features — local preferences control which calendar tradition rules and language are displayed.
- Serving advertisements (free tier only) — to fund continued development of the App at no charge to free users.
- Maintaining calendar accuracy — OTA checks deliver corrected observance data without requiring a full App update.
- Improving accuracy through reports — voluntary discrepancy submissions are manually reviewed to correct the dataset.
- Responding to feedback & support — if you submit a feedback, feature-request, or support form and include a reply email, we use it solely to respond to your message.
- Security and fraud prevention — standard server log data is reviewed to detect and block abusive traffic patterns.
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Third-Party Services and SDKs
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — in-app advertising (free tier only). Data: advertising identifiers, IP address, device info, ad interactions. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Play Billing — purchase processing (Android). Data: transaction receipt only. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple StoreKit — purchase processing (iOS). Data: transaction receipt only. Apple Privacy Policy
- Firebase Hosting (Google) — hosts OTA calendar dataset files. Data: IP address and user-agent in standard server logs (90-day retention). Firebase Privacy & Security
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
BahireHasab is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable international equivalents.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at imadeinfotech@gmail.com and we will promptly address the issue.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Deleting Your Data
Because we do not maintain server-side user accounts or profiles, there is no account to delete. All App-specific data (preferences, entitlements) is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by:
- Uninstalling the App — removes all local data.
- iOS: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → BahireHasab → “Delete App”
- Android: Settings → Apps → BahireHasab → Storage → “Clear Data”
For data held by Google (AdMob / Firebase), contact Google directly or use the Google Data & Privacy dashboard.
Ad Personalisation
- iOS: Decline the ATT prompt, or go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → toggle off BahireHasab.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation (or reset your Advertising ID).
- Upgrade to Premium: Removes all ads and eliminates AdMob data collection entirely.
EU / UK Residents — GDPR Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to: access personal data held about you; request correction or deletion; object to or restrict processing; data portability; and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Because most personal data is processed by Google (AdMob / Firebase) as an independent data controller, you may exercise most of these rights directly with Google. To exercise rights with us, contact imadeinfotech@gmail.com.
California Residents — CCPA Rights
We do not sell personal information. To the extent that AdMob sharing with advertising partners constitutes a “sale” or “sharing” under CCPA, you may opt out by adjusting your device's ad personalisation settings as described above. California residents also have the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
9. Data Security
All OTA data transmissions use HTTPS/TLS encryption. Firebase Hosting and the Google Cloud infrastructure underlying AdMob maintain industry-standard security certifications including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; however, we take commercially reasonable steps to protect data under our control.
10. Data Retention
- Local app data: Retained on device until you uninstall the App or clear its data.
- OTA server logs: Maximum 90 days, then automatically purged.
- Discrepancy reports: Retained until resolved, then deleted.
- AdMob / Firebase data: Governed by Google's own retention policies. See the Google Privacy Policy for details.
11. International Data Transfers
iMade Infotech is based in India. Our servers are hosted in the United States via Google Cloud / Firebase. Google AdMob operates globally. If you access the App from outside the United States or India, your data may be transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. Where required, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms for EEA / UK data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, third-party services, or applicable law. The revised “Last updated” date at the top of this page will indicate when changes were made. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via an in-app notice). Continued use of the App after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
